And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:39
The second greatest commandment is to love others as we love ourselves. Differing from the love of obedience that we have for our heavenly father, it is instead a love of service. It is to love others as Jesus loved us. This encompasses patience, tolerance, humility, service, support, encouragement, and edification. It is void of envy, coveting, arrogance, or self-serving. Read I Corinthians 13 4-7 This too is not a love of emotion, but of attitude, action, and deeds. We are not asked to like others, but to love them! When we interact with others, including our enemies, we should endeavor to treat them as Jesus would. Always ask yourself, “what would Jesus do?!”
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you John 15:12
